THE NATURE OF PRIMAVERA

A sense of rebirth and freedom shapes every aspect of The Nature of Primavera, the new collection that will be presented by Antonina Poppy during Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2026 in Paris. 

In these rare and uncertain times, the designer perceives the essence of the divine presence in slow and attentive creation, believing that fashion can be purified and restored from the way it is pursued today.

To begin creating the entire collection, Pawlowicz turns to the old truth of primavera and the magical force of nature, also in a spring-like conceptual way, bearing witness to its mystical transformation and translating it into structures, liquefied forms, and silhouettes. Antonina allows the inward spiritual grace of vintage textiles to grant them a second life, using dated Italian fabrics and vintage tapes and materials researched and sourced in Florence. The entire collection speaks of this process of transition and rebirth: so innocent, yet very strong.

Just as a bird emerges from its egg, the human soul likewise awakens after winter in parallel with the renewal of nature, imbued with anticipation for a new cycle. This impulse to return from winter and darkness gives rise to a form of romanticism, tinged with melancholy and near-tragic sensibility, yet ultimately animated by hope and inner strength.

Inspired by paintings and photographs, the designer examines the feather not as a singular form but as part of a wider web of living interconnection. Therefore, guided by instinct and by tradition, the first silhouettes from the upcoming couture collection The Nature of Primavera reflect on how the feather symbolically reveals that transformation and rebirth are shared conditions of all living matter.
