The Nature of Primavera: The First Silhouettes in Florence. A Spring Aperitivo and a Moment of Connection.

Antonina Poppy unveiled the first silhouettes and jewellery pieces of new collection in Florence, in an evening defined by energy, connection, and a dynamic mix of friends and clients. The event marked a strong and celebratory beginning, an expression of rebirth and freedom, ahead of the full collection’s presentation at Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2026.

“In these uncertain times I immerse myself in more attentive creation, believing that fashion can be purified and restored from the way it is pursued today. When I began to create this collection, I found myself reflecting on the passage from winter to spring inspired by the magical force of nature. In my head, my vision of garments was “spring-like” not only as a natural transformation but as a conceptual one. I am inspired by how mystical the change of seasons is, particularly from winter to spring and how this transformation can be translated into structures, forms and three-dimensional silhouettes. The entire collection speaks of this process of transition and rebirth: so innocent, yet very strong.

Driven by my deep passion for textiles, I chose materials that reflect this narrative. Feathers became an essential element, not only for their lightness but for what they represent. Alongside them, I worked with old Italian fabrics which are at the core of the brand. These materials carry the heritage of Italy, yet they belong to the past. By reworking them, giving them a second life, I wanted to create a dialogue between memory and renewal.

In this collection, I found myself drawn to the feather not as a singular form, but as part of a wider web of living interconnection. Guided by instinct and freedom, I wanted to reflect on how transformation and rebirth are not individual experiences but shared conditions of all living matter. Just as a bird emerges from its egg, the human soul awakens following nature’s renewal and is filled with anticipation for a new cycle. 

As today marks the first day of the spring I see it as a moment of connection, a time when we naturally move closer to others seeking shared experiences and a sense of community.
