Introducing Capsule 00: A Manifesto of Presence and Memory
Every beginning requires a return. Capsule 00 is not a launch but a quiet re-entry — into presence, intimacy, and the kind of dressing that begins long before you step outside. It starts at home, in the stillness of morning light, where movements are soft and time folds in on itself. This is where we begin: in the small rituals that shape who we are before the world asks us to become anything else.
Conceived in Florence, a city forever suspended between memory and modernity, this capsule feels like something rediscovered. Not a rupture, but a looped thread — the whisper of linen behind a curtain, the weight of silk that holds yesterday’s warmth. Capsule 00 begins not with noise, but with a careful pause. A pared-back collection, a new visual language, and a manifesto made not of declarations, but of moments. It speaks to the intimacy of our experiences, honoring what already is, rather than demanding what we could be.
Florence is where Antonina Poppy first wove its threads — in the cloisters, the studio looms, between the delicate balance of modernity and memory. After seasons spent refining an aesthetic of subtle refinement, Poppy felt the need to start over. The answer arrived in two parts: a full visual rebrand and Capsule 00 — a collection built as a sequence, not a collection of singular drops. Each chapter enters a different room, a different mood, a different kind of attention. Some doors remain half-closed, some gestures stay just out of frame, and all you need to know is this: the coffee is still hot, the bracelet is still on the sink, the bag is full, and she’s not in a hurry.
Capsule 00 is not about reinvention. It’s about resonance — the silk shirts that lift like seafoam, crochet dresses that feel handmade and half-remembered. These garments are meant to graze the skin like memory, softly and insistently, lingering long after the first encounter. Like a polaroid found in an attic drawer, a relic of personal memory meant to be worn and worn until they inherit the shape of their owners' lives. They are not meant to ask you to become something new but to return to what’s always been there.
The campaign imagery looks as if it drifted in from a lucid dream: faces half-obscured by Mediterranean light, textiles rippling like watercolor. It is a surrealistic, heart-woven portrait of nostalgia and escape. Poppy’s rebrand is not a break from the past but a looped thread tying yesterday to tomorrow. Plans for the future include micro-capsules that fuse literature, sculpture, and dress, deeper partnerships with artisans, and moments drawn in pencil, not ink.
Capsule 00 captures the essence of memory — a song half-forgotten, the remembrance of a first note, softly and intently. It speaks of linen and salt air, of love letters written on the margins of long train rides, of a skirt found in a lucid dream in a forest, of silk shirts by the beach, dancing along the waves. It honors not what you must become, but what you already are.
The entire collection illustrates a dreamlike escape between memory and reality. A horizon too wide, pearly haze dissolving outlines, as the anchors of reality and portraits of memory hover overhead like migrating birds. A lucid slipstream in which linen and salt air carry the scent of nostalgia, and reality feels as fragile as a Polaroid bleaching in the sun.
Capsule 00 invites you to step into this world, where every journey forward is also a gentle return. Whether you slip into the silk shirt that lifts like sea foam or the crochet dress that remembers warmth, one foot is in the stories of Florence, and the other is in a horizon still being written. Let the wind finish the line.
